Introducing ResponseAbility: Welcome to our Cloud

Responsibility literally means "having the duty of taking care of people" and that is exactly what ResponseAbility, our exciting new Health and Safety app, is made to do. Having started life as a Digital Logbook, we quickly realised the potential of its Health and Safety component as a stand- alone product.

Responsibility literally means "having the duty of taking care of people" and that is exactly what ResponseAbility, our exciting new Health and Safety app, is made to do. Having started life as a Digital Logbook, we quickly realised the potential of its Health and Safety component as a stand- alone product.

So what does ResponseAbility do? Effectively it provides a paper-less and simplified process for the real-time reporting of Health and Safety information homegrown in New Zealand. It will mean that someone out in the field will be able to complete and then submit H&S reports instantly back to their base from their mobile digital device such as their phone or tablet.

Our people at ResponseAbility bring a fresh, energetic and youthful flavour to this field. The Development Team has already shown proven excellence in a wide range of technology innovation.

Brydie Meinung is our co-founder and already an active, bright young force in the Dunedin entrepreneurial scene. John Rendall, the other co-founder, is also the Technology and Innovation Manager at Animation Research Limited, a world-leader in 3D animation. Tom Mulder, our software developer, has taken the ideas and vision of our founders and captured it in code for us.

Needing little introduction is Ian Taylor, the CEO of Animation Research who has been recognised repeatedly for his contribution to education and business. Among other honours, Ian was inducted into the New Zealand Technology Hall of Fame in 2009 and was named North & South Magazine's 2010 New Zealander of the Year. In the New Year Honours List of 2012, Ian was appointed a Companion of The New Zealand Order of Merit for services to television and business and in 2013, he was named Outstanding Maori Business Leader of the Year.

We are very proud and honoured to have this highly respected and inspirational man as the beloved Mentor of ResponseAbility. He brings with him the resources of his company and the opportunity for us to tap into its knowledge and advances, a major advantage.

A major feather in ResponseAbility's virtual cap is that in 2014 John, Ian and Tom with a small team of others won an Emmy for Outstanding New Approaches in Sports' Programming. We are particularly proud that John, as Project Leader, drove the production of the America's Cup Official App that allowed us to watch the excitement of the races on our computer screens, iPads and phones.

Our dynamic group of people ultimately are driven by two major passions: a determination to utilise the amazing power of technology to vastly improve our lives as a society but perhaps even more importantly, a vision to help every New Zealander get home safely every day.

And that's taking ResponseAbility.
